We are pleased to launch this year’s edition of the EBI Economic Index survey. We conduct this survey annually, and each edition becomes more valuable as the dataset grows, allowing us to identify trends and developments across the European boating sector with increasing accuracy.

Following your feedback and the discussion held at Council level during the recent strategy review, we have expanded the survey to address several important data gaps at European level. These additions reflect the needs highlighted by members and aim to strengthen our evidence base when it comes to importance of our industry. We kindly ask you to complete the survey (as much as possible)or share any national data you already collect so we can integrate it.
Reliable and comparable information is crucial for EBI’s lobbying efforts. Strong data enables us to demonstrate the size, economic weight and importance of our industry when engaging with the EU institutions.
No country-specific data will be published and only aggregated data will be used. It will be used to prepare the EBI Economic Index 2026, which will be shared exclusively with our membership. Selected insights will be presented at the International Breakfast Meeting on 20 January at boot Düsseldorf, with a more detailed review during our General Assembly later the same day.
